Black voter outreach intensifies in Louisiana governor race

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) � To win a second term in his Southern state, Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards needs strong turnout from Louisiana s black voters, who form the core of his party and who lagged in getting to the polls for the primary election. Edwards and his supporters are laboring to reverse that trend ahead of the Nov. 16 runoff election against Republican businessman Eddie Rispone.
