GM to lay off over 2,000 workers as EV demand slows in the US: report

General Motors Co. (NYSE: GM) is scaling back production and laying off more than 2,000 workers across its electric vehicle (EV) and battery operations, reported The Detroit News, as the US market for battery-powered cars shows signs of cooling. The report said it will lay off about 1,200 employees at its all-electric Factory Zero Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center, reducing operations to a single shift.
