Sri Lanka s President Maithripala Sirisena took the drastic measure of dissolving the nation s parliament on Friday after an intense power struggle over the past two weeks, according to Channel NewsAsia. The move will go into effect at midnight and will likely deepen the political crisis since parliamentary elections will be moved up to January from February, according to one of the sources close to the president.
